I have been to Santa Monica,Los Angeles a number of times but this Christmas I witnessed a completely different facet of it,Arlington West Memorial. A memorial in the honour of heroes of war in Iraq made temporarily in the sand with one white cross representing a single soldier and a red representing 10.

Organized and put together by the "Veterans For Peace" (VFP) organizaion and several other volunteers to acknowledge the sacrifices going in war.And every now and then, near and dear ones of the faithful departed, come and remember them. And as the sun sees another day through some hope that no more crosses need be added here.
To think of it now one wonders if its just about Saddam Hussein's execution..
