Not as sinister as it sounds, the "White Festival" is just an annual event at the town of Dessau's historic Bauhaus college.

Each year the festival is dedicated to a different color, previous years being, for example, purple, green, orange etc.  So it shouldn't be taken the wrong way that a town in one of Germany's more nationalistic areas is hosting a "white" festival (despite one or two characters walking around in dubious conical white masks).

The festival is a showcase of music, art, dance and more, which opens with a preview concert of the Anhaltisches Theater's upcoming performances and is regarded by many as the "Event of the year" for the town.
