The Whole Idea

This view is a small part of the large, 4 story stained glass window of the atrium connecting the parking ramp with the main hospital. The two previous images show other views, but this part is the reason I was riveted to the place, taking shot after shot. SInce my son was in ER (nothing serious) I decided to take a break and shoot photos during the daylight. This is unusual to have an ER trip during the day, so the light was right and I had access to the common areas that are normally closed-off during the night.Since the image depicts people at the bedside of an invalid, and the whole scene is below the religious images of Jesus, Mary and saint with an angel watching, this lower portion may not be noticed often. It is just very emotive to me. Definitely one of the most direct and personalized stained glass works for an installation I've ever seen.
