Toddler dies after being trapped in car

A three-year-old girl who was found unconscious in a car on the Gold Coast has died in hospital.

The child was discovered in the car outside the family home at Helensvale on Saturday. The toddler was found in the family's black Mercedes Benz, which was parked in the sun.

Her parents believe she may have been in the car for only 30 minutes before she was found.

She was severely dehydrated but still conscious when was taken by ambulance to the Gold Coast Hospital. She was taken to the Gold Coast Hospital and later transferred to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane but later died.

God - I feel sick....finding her conscious raises hopes, only to be dashed.

Very sad isn't it. People don't realise how dangerous a locked car in the sun is. Pet dogs die within minutes and unfortunately so do people.
