2 hours and 51 minutes, 102 degrees outdoors, sound like an easy tennis match? Maria Sharapova didn't know what she was thinking, after splitting sets against her opponent Camille Pin, losing a 5-0 lead in the third, and losing her first 3 match points. "I just wanted to win", she told the press. At 19 years old she held her composure, when the press was trying to get some headlines for marrows papers. They asked her if she agreed with the rule not to close the roof when temperatures got above 100 degrees. "I'm not mad, I'm not going to complain about it, my opponent had to go through the same situation", but she clearly does not support those rules under the conditions she faced. Those bastards.

The most entertaining moments in tennis has to be a tie between the Macenroe days and Marat Safin pulling down his shorts after hitting a drop shot winner. Today I experienced yet another unforgettable moment, walking over to the umpire Maria dropped a bad word clearly heard on national tv.. She said, "you have to be f-ing kidding me", "not after that", she expressed in disbelief. The official had called a let aftera ball fell out of her opponents pocket during a point.. Connors, Macenroe and many of the tennis players have said some pretty funny stuff, but coming from the #1 women in the world, very unexpected. Back to Maria's stats, 44 winners 65 unforced errors 8 out of 16 break points won. Not what we normally see from this young superstar. Final score 6-3, 4-6, 9-7. Sharapova's next opponent, Anastassia Rodionova. Thank God, the biggest market player, the face of tennis, the new Anna Kournikova, the #1 player in the world, is still in this tournament to help this sport reach out to a broader audience and a sport that is definetly on the comeback trail.. Keep the best Sport in tennis alive!!!!!! Stay Tuned for more coverage that I will be covering from the open..Predictions to come soon!!!
