They arrived as early as 7:30 a.m. to stake out prime spots along
Fourth Avenue. Some parade fans, the young ones, rested on their
parents' shoulders. Others sat in folding chairs.

The 58th annual Torchlight Parade kicked off Saturday evening with
drill teams, floats and balloons, including a giant light bulb from
Seattle City Light.

Thousands and thousands of people lined the streets on a warm summer evening to celebrate the city's largest parade.

"I really like it," said Kayleigh Durning, a 17-year-old from Sumner. "I like the atmosphere. Seattle is a good place to visit."
