The recent Vancouver Sun editorial (“Gateway is important for our future economic well-being” March 22nd) repeated the big lie that Highway One expansion is necessary to accommodate truck traffic volumes.
In
actual fact only 10% of the traffic on the Port Mann bridge is truck
traffic. If the other 90% of drivers were given viable public transit
options there would be more than enough room for truck traffic on the
existing bridge.

Aye; 'Tis true.
After all, having to work on the other side of the bridge, if I didn't drive, I'd have to take two skytrain trips [Transfering], then a bus.
And that's from Surrey Central.
From home, it's a bus [Or two - depending on the time], the two skytrain trips, then the bus.
Up to 9:00. If I work later than that, I can't get home by transit.
Even if there was a couple busses from Lougheed and Fraser Heights/Guildford, it'd be much, much less congested. Guildford/Surrey Central moreso, since that is the nearest large bus transfer.
