tsunami warning

i hadn't watched any tv or heard any radio this morning. after a bit of running around i got down to the beach around 10am. and that's when i 1st heard about a possible tsunami. the beach was officially closed. it's so warm today, actually feels HOT in the sun and i just wanted to dive in and cool off. but i just couldn't bring myself to walk down onto the sand - and erred on the side of caution. bizarrely i think i was actually slightly morbidly fascinated by the idea of a huge wave coming. apparently more than 14 earthquakes have hit the solomon islands today. our thoughts should be with those guys. at 2pm the warning was cancelled.
