New Jersey - Shortly before 7 p.m. on January 4, 2007, Camden N.J. fire fighters were dispatched to 5th and Berkley Streets in the South Camden section of the City for a building fire. The first in units reported that they had heavy fire, through the roof of a very large 150 x 150 feet, vacant factory and warehouse.

All hands fire was struck that was followed by a second alarm and an aggressive interior attack was made but ten minutes later fire fighters were withdrawn from the fire building due to the dangerous condition of the weakening walls and partial collapse.

An aggressive exterior was now being made using Tower Ladders and Master Streams. It took over two hours to bring the fire under control and the companies remained on the fire scene the rest of the evening and were overhauling.

The fire is under investigation by the Camden City Fire Marshals Office.
