TYC denies rights were violated at Evins, asks for two years of monitoring

Texas Youth Commission leaders are rejecting federal findings that young prisoners’ civil rights were violated at the Edinburg lockup, according to a letter from a state lawyer to the U.S. Department of Justice dated Tuesday.
