The last of the UK’s troops will be pulling out of Basra tonight. The remaining 5000 will be stationed at the Airport in Basra so they can be withdrawn at a moments notice.
There will now be no British forces in any Iraqi towns or cities. This will have a huge efefect. The Palace in Basra has been under constant attack since the UK went into Iraq 4 years ago and they can no longer hold this area. The Airport is not much safer either and it is unlikely that they will remain there for long.
It is predicted that they will be gone before december. Cross atlantic relations have now hit a new low and it is likely that many countries will now try to prevent the US from going into Iran and “Shooting Up the Place”.
