United Kingdom Government Flood Recovery Minister John Healey has announced the Government’s intention to lodge an application to the European Commission for
support from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) to help recovery
from the recent flooding in the UK.

Three people are known to have died and thousands of homes have been affected by the floods over a large area of England following devastating heavy rainfalls in July, peak summer time.

Damage to crops are likely to result in substantial food price increases as supermarket chains struggle to find alternative suppliers.

Businesses involved with Tourism in the area have been badly affected and some will be lucky to survive.

Total cost of flood damage is thought to be likely to reach £Five Billion.

good stuff:

Team Mole, I like this story. It's good stuff. Nearly one year on and thousands are still living in temporary accommodation, food prices have gone through the roof and flood defences are not completed.
