UK Floods - Cause and Effect

by Team Mole | July 26, 2007 at 04:47 pm | 1794 views | 4 comments

Team Mole reporters have been out and about in the flooded areas of
England and now present their findings which will come as no surprise
to millions of UK residents.

Bottom line - no realistic government investment on flood defences for years.

Estimated recovery cost for this event alone probably now equates to £Five Billion.

Those who live alongside the rivers Severn, Avon and Wye, example
repeated years of winter flooding - so how can the current problem be
“unprecedented”.

The only difference is, in this instance, massive flood problems
following heavy rainfalls have happened in July, the middle of the UK
summer period...

Team Mole, Thank you for a good in depth updated report. It takes a flood of this scale before money is allocated for defences. Good stuff.

Many Thanks all - The aftermath of the floods will be news for weeks, given the extent of the problems, and the different stories will run and run...
