Universal Wrecking Corp. performs Asbestos Abatement for P&T Mill Industries to create affordable housing in Allentown

August 17th, 2007 - Allentown, PA - Universal
Wrecking Corp. (UWC) was contracted by P&T Mill Industries for interior and
exterior demolition as well as asbestos abatement and on site concrete
crushing. The building is being renovated to accommodate new condominiums.

The owner awarded the project to Universal Wrecking Corp. because of there ability to mobilize immediately.
There extensive Caterpillar Equipment and  associated demolition attachments, experienced
field and clerical personnel and Universal Wrecking’s unparallel ability to work
all aspects of the project simultaneously.



Several tasks need to be completed prior to the start of demolition activities.
All utilities were disconnected. An asbestos inspection was conducted and all
asbestos as well as environmental issues were removed.

Universal Wrecking Corp.  First
need’s to separate the buildings to be demolished from the main section that
was to remain intact. This was accomplished utilizing Cat 345 BL Series II with
a third member LaBounty UP 50. Once the heavy work of the separation is
complete laborers with torches in man-lifts will trimmed and manicured the connecting
steel beams.

The interior debris will be  carefully
separated from recyclable materials via a bobcat and laborers and then loaded
and shipped offsite for disposal. Steel and metals were processed using the
above mentioned metal shears and then sent offsite for scrap metal recycling to
local steel mills.

The new condominiums are being set at affordable prices, in an area where an over-priced housing market has plummeted many into mortgage default.
