Update Surrey BC: Hit and Run Fatality
The driver of a late model SUV involved in the fatality of a young male teen fatality in Surrey remains at large. The victims photo is posted as well as the photo of what witnesses say is the type of SUV involved.

An 18-year-old Surrey man is dead after he and a woman were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene early this morning.

Faqirzada died of his injuries in hospital. The 19-year-old female
pedestrian was taken to Surrey Memorial Hospital with a broken leg.
The
crash occurred near the intersection of 152nd Street and 96 Avenue in
Surrey as the pair crossed in a marked crosswalk during the "don't
walk" sign, said RCMP in a news release.
As
they crossed, they were struck by a northbound vehicle, which didn't
stop and accelerated away from the scene, travelling northbound on 152
Street.
The vehicle, which has not been located, is described as
a sporty or boxy dark coloured sedan or sport-utility vehicle. Several
witnesses identified the vehicle as a Mazda 3.
Police said the vehicle would have sustained front end damage.
An off-duty ambulance attendant observed the collision and medical treatment was provided immediately to the pedestrians.
The investigation is continuing.
