Stop SPP Protest - Union Leader stops provocateurs

From the CBC Radio 3 Blog:

I was checking out the comments on a CBC story about the Security and Prosperity Partnership summit, and one of the commenters said they'd heard a story on local radio about three men dressed up in black wearing masks with rocks in their hands (presumably anarchist types) who, after being confronted by a union leader and accused of being police agents, run for the police line, where they are put in cuffs and taken away.

It's the sort of thing that would usually make me shrug and say "Meh," except that there's a video of the incident on YouTube. Go watch it.

Now, I'm no journalist, and what I do know of the profession comes mostly from watching Superman movies and The Newsroom, but if I were a cub reporter, or even a jaded news director, these are some of the questions I'd think about asking:

Who are these men the police arrested?

If they are Black Bloc, why did none of their comrades recognize them as such?

Why, if they were planning on throwing rocks at the police, would they cross a police line instead of just walking away to freedom?

Why does CEP Union leader Dave Cole think these three guys are "agent provocateurs" sent by the police? (Maybe if you asked him nicely, he'd tell you?

Check the Youtube video here.

UPDATE: CBC News story is here

UPDATE 2: The boots the fake protesters were wearing are the same as the riot police... Hmm!

UPDATE 3: Quebec Police admit they went undercover! Sneaky bastards.

pwalmsley, good job getting this up quickly. Apparently, Forrest Gump was right- you can tell a lot about people by their shoes.

there is more on the status of the provocateurs here:

this, whille not surprising needs to get massive publicity to let the public know the lengths the elites will go to marginalize dissent.
