UPDATED! "Nonetheless, the whole scientific discussion has turned ugly and is now orchestrated by non-scientists and their moronic sycophants who are a new, emergent class of ignorant but powerful humans who have the potential for great damage to the culture."

Update -

"..the deep stupidity of the global warming alarmists is so profound and their ignorance of basic science is so incredibly deep that it is hard not to ridicule them. I know – one should feel pity for the stupid – except the stupid are trying to base actual policy and public law on their lack of anything even resembling actual science. And two – I despise hypocrites. Most of these big name green-weeneis are burning enough fossil fuels every day than most people do in a lifetime. And their pathetic excuse for this is that “they are the decision makers who are making a difference” so that the rest of us can go live poorer lives in order that they can live in excess. I’d give them my advice in this, but most of it is physiologically impossible."

I stated that the man worked for NASA, because he does work for NASA.  If you, the reader, doubt that he works for NASA I expect you, the reader, to overcome your incredible laziness and click on the mans profile....much in the same way I did.

The profile's not on the page you linked to. If you make a claim, it's up to you to prove it.

Besides, he's comparing apples and oranges in his post -- and, as a bioengineer, he knows it. CO2 accounts for up to 29% of the greenhouse effect, while methane accounts for no more than 9%. The two substances aren't identical. It's like comparing glasses to sunglasses.

Why he's being so misleading is an open question. But he's deliberately leaving out information to make his case.

He works for NASA Wisco, that simple.

And CH4 is twenty times more capable of warming the planet than CO2.

That's what's known as an appeal to authority; it's not an argument.

And CH4 is twenty times more capable of warming the planet than CO2.

Which doesn't mean one hell of a lot. The greenhouse effect is natural and necessary to our environment -- it's an increased effect that's the problem. Methane added to the atmosphere accounts for 9% of total human emissions -- CO2, on the other hand, is 82% (Energy Information Administration).

Like I said, apples and oranges.

You said that the article didn't mention NASA, the man is a scientist working for NASA. A scientist, not some person off the street with no scientific credentials, and one that works for NASA no less.  You don't agree with his data, go talk to him about it.
