UPEI Student Union takes more time to consider Cadre proposals

The UPEI student council unanimously voted to restructure the committee considering the future of the UPEI student newspaper. The new committee will now include a Cadre editor and staff member as well as a trained journalist who has worked in print media. The committee will no longer include any member of ISMS, but will still consider ISMS’ proposal, alongside proposals from any other interested groups, societies or individuals.

After the student council meeting, Ryan Palmer, ISMS President – who had been hopeful the ISMS proposal to take over the Cadre would be received favourably -- said he was disappointed in the absence from the meeting of student union president Ryan Gallant: “Ryan Gallant and I have worked hard on this even before the committee was struck initially, so, you know, it’s a bit disappointing."
