SEP 12, 2005 1:40PM OPHELIA MOVING NW AT 10MPH - 180NM SE OF CHARLESTON, SC Tropical Storm Ophelia is now heading northwestward and is moving faster. The last fix of the storm was at 31.9N/77.4W - or about 180NM SE of Charleston, SC. The storm's forward speed appears to near 10mph. MAX Sustained surface winds are near 65mph in the northwest quadrant, and could reach Hurricane force later today or tonight as the storm moves over the Gulf Stream. I expect the storm to weaken a bit prior to landfall.
