I think the USD bullish sentiment has returned with a vengeance.
Even though US consumer prices fell last month (decreased 0.5% in
September, the biggest drop since November 2005) on the back of a steep
slide in energy prices, the underlying inflation rate accelerated to its highest annual rate in over 10 years(!!!), which should keep the Fed nervous about inflation risks in the economy.
Core prices rose 2.9% y/y in September, and that's the highest rate since February 1996. That is well above the Fed's understood comfort zone for....
