The National Championship will be decided so long from now that we will probably forget that there was a college football controversy.  In the time period between now and January 3rd we could all have witnessed a playoff race which would decide a true champion and end the idiocy of bowl games, leaving fans feeling satisfied.

On Saturday UCLA pulled off a huge win against their rival USC.

The rubber bullets were firing as UCLA won for the first time in seven years.

This upset set in motion the possibility that Michigan could potentially play OSU for a second time this year. And why not, Michigan was ranked ahead of Florida before the weekend.  It has happened in recent history.
In 1996 Florida State beat the Florida Gators in the last game of the year only to have to face them again and lose, handing Florida its National Title.  Sometimes the two best teams play again, right.  Wrong!

For the DugOut it comes down to one point.  Who did you lose too?
Michigan lost to the undisputed number one Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus by three points.

Florida lost to #11 Auburn at Auburn by 10 points.

I do not really want to see a re-match for the National Title.  But I think the Big Ten is the best conference this year, as OSU (12-0), Michigan (11-1), and Wisconsin (11-1) all speak for themselves.  If people thought Florida was so great why were they ranking them under Michigan after the loss in Columbus.  It comes down to the fact that the top teams should play eachother in a playoff, period.  Just like every other NCAA sport.

Ohio State has been No. 1 throughout the season in the BCS rankings. Southern California went into the final weekend at No. 2, followed by Michigan and Florida. The Trojans suffered a stunning 13-9 upset at the hands of rival UCLA while Florida was taking advantage of Arkansas' mistakes to pull out a wild 38-28 victory in the Southeastern Conference championship game in Atlanta.

The Buckeyes have a 50-day wait from their last regular-season game, a memorable 42-39 victory at home against No. 2-ranked Michigan, until they finally face off with the Gators in the desert for the national title.
