At some point the Catholic Church must comes to grips with it's role during the European Holocaust.  Pope Pius the 12th was a ardent Nazi supporter as were many within his cabinet.  As with child abuse, the Mother Church has actively suppressed data relating to that period and their covert support for the "Vatican Rat Line" that ferried Nazi's escaping from the Allied justice.  These same Nazi officers became employees of the newly formed Central Intelligence Service.

You see, Communism was not willing to politically give the Church a free hand.  The facists as a matter of political expidiency and population control promised to allow the Church to retain it's stature.  So the Church choose facism.  -  The Angryindian

JERUSALEM · The
Vatican's ambassador to Israel attended a Holocaust memorial service on
Sunday, reversing an earlier decision to boycott the event that
threatened to upset fragile ties between Israel and the Holy See.


Monsignor Antonio Franco said last week he would skip the ceremony at
Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial marking the beginning of Israel's annual
Holocaust Remembrance Day because Catholics were offended by a caption
at the museum describing the wartime conduct of Pope Pius XII. 

The caption next to the
picture of Pius reads, "Even when reports about the murder of Jews
reached the Vatican, the pope did not protest," refusing to sign a 1942
Allied condemnation of the massacre of Jews.
