Violent storm kills Gaspe resident, another still missing

QUEBEC -- One person is dead and another is missing in Quebec's Gaspe region after their house was carried away by torrential rains that pounded the region Wednesday night. Three bridges were also washed away and two others were damaged, leaving parts of the peninsula cutoff.

"We have never seen anything like that," Gaspe Mayor Francois Roussy said.

Mr. Roussy estimates the damage to infrastructure in the tens of millions of dollars.
