Virginia Tech: The Repercussions

They are imposible to fortell, but it is clear that there will be a growing story to tell as the repercussions spread outward. It seems it's already started.

We live in a violent culture. Our entertainment is violent. Our sports are violent. Our Politics have great capacity for violence. Our economics can at times be violent too. Why then are we surprised, tragic as the events of Virginia Tech are, when violence bubbles up into everyday life? The repercussions of this senseless act, will likely be similar to those of the last senseless act - nothing. Sound and fury to the contrary notwithstanding.
