Volleyball - Indonesia beats Thailand in five sets

"We have been playing very good today. Actually we had made some mistakes, and should not have to play in five sets to finish the game," Indonesian volley ball co-trainer, Machfud Irsyada, told the press after the game.

According to Machfud, the players were afraid they would play badly because it was their first. As host, Indonesia was given the honor to advance to the quarter finals without having to play in qualification round.

Indonesia was trounched by Thailand in the 2005 SEA Games final in Manila and also failed to achieve success in a similar games in Vietnam in 2003.
