Let’s say you want to kill someone and would like to get away with it. You want to go somewhere that it is so easy to murder someone there is a 70% chance that even with witnesses you won’t spend a day in jail. Let me break down the facts about the Democrat run city were you can get away with murder in broad daylight.

From 1998 through 2003, fewer than half the murders in Essex County 637 murders resulted in a conviction. And even when killers were convicted, only one in four received the legislatively mandated 30-year minimum, largely due to plea bargains, the analysis found. Former Gov. Richard Codey, a lifelong Essex County resident, calls it the “nonexistent justice system. “We can’t talk about it privately anymore,” said Codey, the state Senate president. “We’ve got to admit it publicly: Hey, there’s something wrong here that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the state.”

In 2000, a witness who changed his mind about testifying forced prosecutors to drop capital murder charges against a woman accused of hiring a hit man to kill a Newark businessman. The suspect, Maria Cruz, had stood to be only the second woman sentenced to death in New Jersey. In 2002, a prosecutor ran out of a courtroom when he was not ready to start a murder trial. The judge yelled to sheriff’s officers, “Seize him!” The scene may have been comical, but the outcome was not: A reputed drug kingpin and two underlings were acquitted of charges they killed a rival.

In 2004, a man was acquitted in the shooting deaths of three people in a downtown Newark tavern. The case presented by the prosecution prompted a juror to say after the trial: “I wouldn’t allow them to investigate the murder of a cat or a dog.”

Finding reliable witnesses is widely mentioned as the single largest challenge in the effort to put murderers in prison. The reasons for the scarcity of such witnesses are numerous. They are killed or intimidated. Some simply disappear. And many of those who do show up in court lack credibility or recant their testimony. In its six-year review of homicides, The Star-Ledger examined 36 memorandums filed by prosecutors asking judges to dismiss cases for lack of evidence. Twenty- six cited missing or uncooperative witnesses.

The problem has not seemed to get any better the past two years, a period the analysis did not cover.

At least five murder witnesses were killed in Essex County in 2004 and 2005. They included 22-year-old Syreeta Lee, slain on her front porch in Irvington in August after she talked to police about her boyfriend’s killing. Many other witnesses refuse to testify after receiving threats, authorities said.

In November, police charged a 25-year-old Newark man, Michael “Mike Mike” Melvin, with the execution-style killings of four people whose bodies were found in a lot next to a church in Newark’s South Ward on Thanksgiving weekend in 2004. Authorities said the four were killed because one of them, Carmen Estronza, had witnessed a gang-related slaying on Frelinghuysen Avenue. Until recently, the Prosecutor’s Office did little to protect witnesses beyond occasionally putting them up in a hotel during trial.

Murder scenes across the 126-square-mile county are examined by the prosecutor’s Crime Scene Unit, a small group of investigators so overworked they frequently miss basic items like fingerprints, blood and hair, according to lawyers and staffers.

In 2004, the unit’s five investigators handled 428 cases, including murders, police shootings and suspicious deaths, according to the most recent annual report of the Prosecutor’s Office. On nights and weekends, when most killings occur, only one investigator is usually available to go to the scene. They work out of a converted parking garage in downtown Newark with obsolete testing equipment and insufficient storage, according to Prosecutor’s Office documents. The only running water is in the bathroom, which doubles as an evidence- processing unit. There are few safeguards for how evidence is passed to local police and prosecutors. In the past 19 months, two investigators have left for crime scene units in other counties with higher pay and better working conditions.

These problems have long been an open secret between police and prosecutors. But in 2004, after a crime scene investigator was accused of stealing money from a murder victim’s body, the unit’s supervisor sounded the alarm. In a memo obtained by The Star-Ledger, Lt. Stephen Bright detailed the problems and warned of investigators “going through the motions of the job. “The prosecutor’s professional standards unit dispatched investigator Michael Critelli to examine the unit. In a memo summarizing his visit, Critelli said he found unprotected evidence stacked in hallways and no computerized system to keep track of how evidence came and went.

The people in charge of protecting the citizens of Newark are not doing a very good job I would say. And did I mention they all are Democrats. But you have Democrats all over the country who are trying to convince Americans that they are better qualified to run our cities. I say we put Rudi in there for six months let him root out the corrupt incompetent fools running that city so he can finish in time to be elected POTUS and clean that cesspool in Washington too.

Now comes the good part. The New York Post broke down the great treatment the savages that killed those poor school kids in cold blood like animals got. lets look at that scum Carranza :

Carranza was first arrested on Oct. 1 after a bar fight and charged with aggravated assault and weapons possession (using a bottle on three men in the fight). The processing judge set bail at $50,000.Three days later, Judge JoAnne Watson reduced bail to $20,000, with the consent of the Essex County prosecutor’s office. After posting $2,000 cash bond, Carranza was set free that day. On Jan. 18, he was arrested on 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, 15 counts of child endangerment and five counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of five.The same Judge Watson set bail at $200,000. On Jan. 29, Superior Court Judge John Kennedy reduced bail to $150,000 with the consent of Essex Assistant Prosecutor Dawn Scott. Carranza posted a $150,000 bond on Feb. 6 and was out the next day.

On May 3, Carranza was arrested on six counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child, two counts of sexual assault on a four-year-old and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Judge Michael Ravin set bail at $300,000. On May 17, Superior Court Judge Thomas Vena consolidated Carranza’s two sexual-abuse cases - and lowered bail to $150,000.

As The Newark Star-Ledger reported, the vacationing Vena dropped by his chambers - with neither defense attorneys nor prosecutors present - to reduce and consolidate the bail. Having already posted $150,000, Carranza walked without having to put up an additional dime. Prosecutor Margarita Rivera claims she consented to reducing Carranza’s bail to $300,000, not $150,000.

Last October, a City Council resolution, passed 8-0, (did I mention that they are all Democrats) declared that the city won’t inquire of an immigrant’s status or deny an illegal any city services. This resolution has caused Newark to be deemed a so-called “sanctuary city.” At a Tuesday press conference, Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy deemed the immigration status of the perpetrators “irrelevant.” Booker added, “It’s no way the obligation of the city police department to be going around doing the work of [ICE].”

I really don’t think there is anything else to say. Newark is as broken as many others run by ….Oh did I mention Democrats. So the next time you feel the urge to kill someone and you don’t already live there, just call them up and invite them to Newark.
