I know this ritual practice is commonplace in Louisiana, Haiti, and other African tribal nations.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />In Brazil it is known as Macumba and it is said that a Bocor has the ability to heal or make ill to death with but one touch.
In the “dreamtime” Aborigine, they talk of "those who point the bone" and it's dire consequences...
It seems to be linked to Catholicism in some Latin Caribbean Countries, and the ritual sacrifices of poultry to create powerful spells (Santeria).
I do know you that it is a potent and dangerous medicine, or toxin not to be scoffed at or toyed with!

Some people in Louisiana believe in Voodoo. But it appears that Voodoo is no protection against hurricanes.
