Waste Management, Long Island Style

You can't fight city hall, but you can dump your garbage there: A Long Island man who is unsatisfied with his garbage collection (or lack thereof) decided to take matters into his own hands. Angry that his cardboard recycling hadn't been collected for a few weeks, he decided to show city hall just how he felt...by dumping his garbage on their lawn.

This is the kind of thing that only Long Islanders can do with such pinache (my mother is from Long Island, so I should know). Bravo Tom Mirabelli!

Tom Mirabelli says the cardboard hadn't been collected on two occasions over three weeks. So he dumped about eight pounds of neatly packaged cardboard in front of the town hall Tuesday.

That brought citations with charges of littering, obstructing a right of way and unlawful activities. Mirabelli has a court date in September.
