November 10, 2006 A school has been closed and people advised to stay indoors as smoke from a fire spreads across a northwest Tasmanian city. Devonport City Council infrastructure service manager Don Anderson said the fire started at the council's waste transfer station at Spreyton, south of Devonport, on Wednesday.
