IF we want to attract people to live in the new houses we plan to build we have to improve our town centres.

THE planned new era in north Northamptonshire is set to have a huge impact on our town centres.

Actions plans are being drawn up so places such as Corby, Wellingborough and Kettering can embrace the changes growth will bring to the region.

Chief executive of North Northants Development Company, Bob Lane, said: "You can't have towns that expand if you don't have good town centres.

"We are making sure we help the districts to develop vibrant town centres. But we need to make sure they keep their individual identities. Each of the three main towns – Corby, Wellingborough and Kettering – will have their own strengths.
