I
personally don’t have any tattoos. I just haven’t found that one piece
of art that I can live with for the rest of my life. I do appreciate
them however. So I decided to look for people who were passionate
enough about anatomy to actually have a piece tattooed on themselves.
Here are some of the interesting specimens I found. Enjoy!

It would have been nice to have had the brachial plexus
tattooed on my body for those difficult anatomy exams. Or my arm
musculature…

Is there anyone else out there willing to share their anatomy or science related tattoo??

streetanatomy, very interesting. i see tatoos as a way of expressing individuality and taking control of the one thing you don't have control of (the body you're born with)...this is a whole different thing though that goes beyond art. need to think about it more. Good Stuff.

On a somewhat similar note, here's an archived site that held a lexicon or Russian prison tattoos. One of the images doesn't load properly, so you kind of have to click around and see what comes up. Some of the photos are quite eerie, and it's all fascinating.

streetanatomy, some of these tattoos are incredible.  I never knew people actually did this.  I recently posted a story about someone getting their eyeball tattooed and thought that was crazy, but these photos sure top that. Thanks!
