Aftershock shakes Jambi Province

The epicenter of the aftershock was located at 2.83 degrees southern latitude and 100.11 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 54 km.

Earlier at 07.16 am WIB, an aftershock measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted 97 km southwest of Painan, West SUmatra, at a depth of 67 km.

Jambi was rocked by a strong earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale on Thursday at 06.49 am WIB at a depth of 24 km, around 140 km southwest of Sungai Penuh, Jambi.

Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey reported an earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale on Mentawai Islands, Sumatra, at a depth of 10 km, located around 185 km of Pandang, West Suamtra, or 200 km of Bengkulu.
