My Humberto Diary

2:44

According to the radar map the rain we were  getting is mostly over . I guess we'll be having roast after all . I am glad that this storm did not cause any damage where I am and I hope all of the others areas make it through safely. We had a few gusts of wind but nothing worrying.  It just proves that these storms are unpredictable.

I'll be waiting for sunshine

 Until next time.

The rain contiues and the roast is cooking. According to my sources the weather will become very severe around 3:00 . We are ready for this storm, although it came at such a short notice. As I look out side we are begining to get some stronger gusts.

 9:00 am

We are expecting winds of 35mph with gusts up to 50 today. According to the radio report we will be
having 5-10 inches of rain. As you can see from the video, things are pretty quiet. I decided to take out
the roast to cook for dinner so I am planning on having the power on lng enough to cook it.

It is 7:55

Here in Central Louisiana it is wet, no wind yet ,I am now preparing for the event which is inevetable.  Hurricane Humberto!  Fresh memories of a tree landing on my porch a couple of years ago during Rita and making splinters of it goes through my mind, as I begin to get out the candles and other supplies that will  probably be needed later today.  So far it is drizzling I will be adding pictures and updates as this storm makes its way through.

In the event that the power goes out, I will complete my updates when the power is restored.  Is it possible to maintain power in a weaker storm like this one? We will soon find out.
