Snow, ice, Pelts Southern Ontario by Rob Walker

Well I can attest to the fact that it is indeed cold, snowing and grey here in Toronto. I didn't notice any major change in the number of people out, either driving or walking around. It's not bad enough to close much down, just cause lots of accidents and general discomfort.

The snow is driving west from the maritimes, who have been hit hard this week , especially PEI, where some residents have gone four days without power.

People in southern and eastern Ontario are bracing for a blustery storm Friday that is already causing headaches for travellers before it pushes east into Quebec and the Maritimes.
A winter storm warning was in effect from Windsor to the Quebec border, as forecasters warned of near whiteout conditions in some areas.
Environment Canada predicts anywhere from 20 to 30 centimetres of snow will fall throughout Friday in the region as the storm rolls eastward.
A severe winter snowstorm barrelled into Southern and Eastern Ontario this morning, closing schools and offices, and cancelling a large number of flights.
There were almost 200 cancellations at Pearson International Airport as of 7 a.m. EST, although many of those involve places in Canada or the United States which have already been hit by the massive weather system.
Toronto District public schools remain open, although bus service to them has been cancelled. Schools in several districts to the west of the city, including Peel public and Catholic, have been closed for the day.
A winter storm was expected to pummel  has arrived Greater Toronto Area Friday with up to 30 centimetres of snow. Environment Canada on Thursday posted a winter storm warning on its Web site stating that dangerous winter weather conditions are “imminent.” A low pressure system was tracking northeast from near Arkansas toward Lake Erie and southern Ontario, the weather forecaster warned. Commuters driving today on Highway 401 are warned that freezing rain and ice pellets are possible.
