Weekend Tech: Setting Up a Family Web Site

A family Web site is a great and easy way to
let everyone keep up with one another’s doings, pictures, contact
information and more. There are even logistical reasons to create a
family Web site, like scheduling use of the family summer cabin or
fishing boat. And in this age of identity theft, such a site can be as
public or as private as you like. Even better, it only takes a weekend
for the average PC user to put a site like this together.

“We've
got family contacts here and in the Philippines," says Mike Maitem, a
radiologist based in Providence, R.I, and a close friend of mine.
"Setting up the site was easy and it lets everyone know where we all
are and what we're doing. A fast way of staying in touch and much
cheaper than constant phone calls."
