Any kid who grew up in the 1980s will surely recall with delight the good spirited nonsense that was Weird Al Yankovic. Yankovic was the musical equivalent of Mad Magazine, taking clever and often hilarious jabs at such pop icons of the day like Madonna, Huey Lewis and the News, and of course Michael Jackson. Not only was Yankovic brilliant at parodying famous songs through witty rewrites (for instance, Madonna's "Like a Virgin" became the humorously non-sensical "Like a Surgeon"), but Yankovic also rode the crest of the then burgeoning music video craze by recreating his targets' videos in gentle mockery (who can forget the sight of an engorged Weird Al in fat prosthetics dancing his way through a parody of Michael Jackson's "Bad" in the video "Fat"?)
