Wellingborough  Market, Northamptonshire, England is hosting a continental market with a wee taste of  Scottish Food  in  Market Street, Wellingborough, starting tomorrow and running until Saturday.

A range of items will be on offer to sample and buy, including Scottish wine  -  French Cheeses  -  Haggis   -  shortbread and crepes, as well as freshly-baked  French Bread and  Polish Bread and  cakes.

Town centre manager David Cross said: "The event is to promote  Wellingborough town and to attract the community and visitors by providing an alternative experience for them other than the everyday shopping experience.

"Hopefully this will increase footfall in the town centre and increase the number of people visiting shops in the area."

Wellingborough Mayor Tom Partridge-Underwood will be one of those visiting the market on Saturday to see what is on offer.

Chris Hand is from  Amber Markets Ltd of Nottingham, which organises and arranges traders from abroad to come across to England and have stalls at continental markets across the country.

She said: "There will be lots on offer, including haggis from Scotland,  Isle Of Arran speciality cheeses, jams and preserves. "There will be jewellery as well, including bone jewellery from Australia."There will be something for everyone."

Continental markets have been held in Wellingborough in previous years but this is the fist time Amber Markets and its traders from Scotland and further afield have visited.
