This shot was more of a test than anything else. I have complained about the loss of auto focus on the Canon 100-400 LIS lens when using the Canon 1.4 converter.
Here in waning evening light (8:00 pm) at Toronto International Airport hand held, manual focus, full out at 560 mm with motion (plane taking off) is the end result.
Little has been done to the image in Adobe Photoshop. A fiscal amount of unsharp mask, and I say a little for aircraft with their angled lines are not kind to those with a heavy hand with the shapening tool.
The image overall is still softer than the pristine results I normally prefer. Considering my deliberate attempt to push the lens/1.4 combination to it's limit, I would say that it faired pretty well.
