What Is Hoodia? It's Not The Weight Loss Miracle You Think
Hoodia diet pills have become one of the most popular diet pills on the market today, but what is hoodia? It's the name for a species of plant. There are thirteen varieties of hoodia, but the variety that has everyone's attention is hoodia gordonii. This is the variety that has the ability to suppress appetite.
The hoodia gordonii plant is found in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa and has been used for centuries by the natives, who are called the San tribe, or Bushmen. They would eat a small piece of the plant to suppress their appetite during long hunting trips.
The hoodia gordonii plant has been classified as an endangered species so their are tight controls over the exportation of it from South Africa. You won't find hoodia gordonii in raw form. You'll only find it in powder form or as an extract in various diet pills and products.
So in summary, what is hoodia? It's a plant that can be found in powder form in diet pills and has the ability to suppress appetite. What hoodia isn't is a magical weight loss pill! Despite all the marketing hype and bogus advertising claims, you will not "magically" lose weight just by popping pills that contain hoodia gordonii. If it works for you, it will only do one thing - suppress your appetite.
You still need to do the heavy lifting (no pun intended). For successful weight loss you still need to maintain a healthy diet and exercise.
