Ewing Bottoms, Jackson County, Indiana, Nov 24, 2006. According to Dan Kaiser, lead adult whooper is #7-01, a five year old female from the first year of the Operation Migration program, 2001. Her radio transmitter is currently nonfunctional. The two juveniles are #'s 26 & 28-06, both direct autumn release (DAR) birds, released to migrate with adult Whooping Crane and Sandhill Crane rather than following an ultralight. They are banded red over green left (both) and white red white on oneand the other white over red. One of these two has a satellite tracking transmitter as well as the normal transmitter.
