The UK is attempting to turn the tide against pro whaling nations with an all out recruitment drive to bring new countries into the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and reaffirm the international ban on commercial whaling. Canada, despite having the worlds longest coastline and being home to 11 endangered whale populations is not an IWC member.

Canada has every right to be on the Commission - far more so than the miniscule little despot countries that Japan is "buying off" in order to gain Japan's wicked ways!
Here's hoping though that Canada would be more enlightened than it has been on sealing and fishing though - their record there is pathetic!
