Win a $50,000 Home Makeover

The Globe and Mail has entered the world of home renovation.  Readers are being given the chance to win a $50,000 home makeover as part of a new contest presented with Alliance Atlantis.

The Ultimate Home Makeover contest challenges readers to go online to answer a trivia question found within the pages of the Globe each day. The top prize includes a Food Network Gourmet Kitchen, an HGTV Spa Bathroom, a Showcase Ultimate Home Theatre and weekly prizes of $1,000 of makeover money.

The contest began yesterday and runs for the next six weeks. Ad support will run in Globe and Mail publications and on Alliance Atlantis channels, including Showcase, Food Network and Home and Garden Television (HGTV).

Beginning this Friday, a fake house will be erected at the RBC Centre in Toronto. Passersby will be able to select one key from a container. If the key unlocks the door, they win the prize waiting behind. The house will move to Vancouver’s BC Home and Garden Show which begins Feb. 21.
