UPDATE: 1st March 2007

OVER the next 25 years Northamptonshire will change dramatically. The county is known for its small market towns and wide, green countryside.

But when the Government wants growth of up to 89,000 new homes in the north of the county alone.

Above Story:
The changing face of our county Evening Telegraph.

''What about South and West Northamptonshire?

There is widespread concern as to where the housing and services are to be built.

There is a shortage of housing for existing families in certain areas of the county, especially affordable housing, care homes, couples and single persons accommodation.

Also people will be downsizing and moving up from down South or down from up North.

But where are they planning to build the estates? This is the question on everyone's mind.

WNDC; West Northamptonshire Development Corporation are the initial deciders. They have already held meetings in regard to individual developments on School sites within Northamptonshire, and they are in control of Large New developments within Northampton, Daventry and Towcester district's.

Towcester, the oldest town in the county, and it's villages, are the main concern.'' liamssoft.

Liamsoft - I see from your profile that you are ideally placed to provide ongoing info on this. Are there public action groups etc that would like their voices heard? Or even pro-development people who feel it will bring jobs and opportunities....

Thanks Mate for jumping in, Until the proposals and public consultation
start, no one is the wiser as to what is proposed. Information comes in dribs
and drabs, a committee was set up by the Government to oversee the expansion,
but is it  fairly representative of the area?

Dig around, I'm sure you can come up with some tasty morsals. Remember, what you dig up could be used by mainstream media, with you quoted as a source!
