I got poked with the first of three shots to help keep me cervical cancer free, woot! I'm probably not going to get cervical cancer anyway, but I consider the $210 well spent. It kind of sets me back on the camera I just bought, but, meh, no cervical cancer AND a new camera? I'm a happy camper.
Seriously, every woman (under the age of 26) and their daughter (over the age of 9) should go get it.
As an aside, the needle didn't hurt much, but the vaccine was a burning ache down my arm that got worse as I approached the check out desk until I was on the verge of tears. It was over pretty quickly and I get to go back in September and experience it all over again! I didn't tense at all and it doesn't hurt anymore. I haven't had any other side effects, that I am aware of, and usually I am the queen of side effects. I did sign a release saying that I understood it could kill me, that was fun!
Before I went to get it, I got all of the literature about it from gardasil.com, so in the very least you should look into it for yourself.
