10 South Koreans killed in Philippine road accident

Careless driving  led to the accident in the Philippines that killed ten South Koreans on Wednesday. The van carrying the Koreans crashed into a storage house on the opposite side of a road after crossing over the median. The Korean embassy in Manila said the van is likely to have lost control in heavy rain while traveling on the winding road.

Locla newspaper are reporting that the Koreans were on their way to a Bolinao resort from Baguio City when the accident occurred at 12:30 in the afternoon.  The bodies of the ten Koreans are currently at a hospital in Boliano. Embassy officials have been dispatched to the site of the accident to determine its exact cause.

At least 10 South Korean tourists were killed on Wednesday when the van in which they were travelling crashed into a concrete wall in northern Philippines, officials said.

The police said the van was on its way to Bolinao resort in Pangasinan province at the time of the accident, the ABS-CBN News network reported.

The bodies were brought to a hospital and are yet to be identified, the report said.

Witnesses and police said the driver had lost control of the vehicle. Currently, the case is being investigated.

No further details were immediately avaliable.
