Jordan wrote earlier about the protests at the BBC over the appearance of Nick Griffin on Question Time. Nick Griffin is the leader of the BNP, a notoriously right-wing, whites-only political party in Britain. (Yes, it's all very grim.)
Here is an piece in the Independent which describes 10 things everyone should know about the BNP, in general, and before the Question Time slot this evening.
#1.
1. Nick Griffin is a convicted racist who said Hitler 'went a bit too far'. The man who will achieve a first for the extreme right-wing in Britain by taking his place on the BBC's flagship debating programme tomorrow is a convicted racist who once said that Hitler "went a bit too far" and fraternised with the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan. Since attending his first National Front meeting at the age of 15, the privately educated leader of the British National Party has been imbued with the doctrine and practice of the far right from an early age. He read 'Mein Kampf' when he was 13.

My comment is simple....enough people must have voted for the BNP otherwise it wouldn't be where it is today. When all said and done we are fortunate enough to be a democratic nation and the votes simply reflected the view of thousands in favour of Nick Griffins party. You also can't allienate parties or people because of their political beliefs and the fact you don't agree with them. The main question is what is the nation thinking? What made thousands of people vote for the BNP? Something did.
