This is one another incident of heinious crime against humanity by none other then pirates of Red sea.According to latest reports about 100 migrants are feared to have drowned after being thrown overboard by smugglers. This incident took place in off the coast of yamen in gulf od Aden.

The migrants were attempting to flee to Yemen from war-torn Somalia but were forced off the boat about 5km (3 miles) from the coast, a UN official said.

About 47 migrants managed to swim to shore and alert the authorities.

The UN says about 32,000 people have made the perilous crossing to Yemen this year, and 365 have gone missing.

The boat had left the Somalia port of Marera on Monday with 150 people on board, according to Ron Redmond, a spokesman for UNHCR.

"Survivors said they counted a total of 47 people reaching the beach and later saw Yemeni authorities burying five bodies," Mr Redmond said at a press conference.

Thanks Rhonda j Mangus,

It is really very tragic story, first off all they were facing the trouble of forced migration then they wera drowned, its beyond my imagination to even think what can be done to these smugglers. It seems we are back to colonial era, where there is no room for justice.

Thanks anamika.

What to say , it hurts to break this kind of story on NP .These smugglers should be handed over to Taliban for REAL JUSTICE . Atleast any civilised society cant do that.

You are again welcome, Amitjha. Unfortunately we live in an unjust world where, more often than not, it seems there is no room for justice. Yet, we must persevere toward a just world.
