105 Killed In Bomb Blast In Peshawar
Sadly, I have been changing the numbers in this story's headline: The death toll in the deadly Peshawar blast has now risen to 105. Over 200 people are said to be wounded. There will perhaps be more casualties as people are trapped under the debris of buildings that fell due to the fires.
The powerful bomb destroyed much of a market where women were shopping for bangles, clothes and toys, accompanied by children, leaving a terrible carnage behind.
The Taliban have warned that they would stage more attacks if the army does not end its new ground offensive in South Waziristan, in the tribal belt of Pakistan. This blast has coincided with Hillary Clinton's first visit to Pakistan as Secretary of State.
At least 80 people have been killed and more than 200 injured after a car bomb exploded in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, according to a government official. The bomb went off in the Peepal Mandi market street of Peshawar
The explosion in the Peepal Mandi market street caused a fire that has engulfed many of the surrounding buildings.
Sky's Asia correspondent Alex Crawford says that the damage caused is huge and the death toll is expected to rise.
