Again, religion rears its ugly head with the practice by many unclued to the concept of including Religious based performance of a President.  For one Muslim is not a religion, funny how this is brought up in a nonsensical poll, and then a side by side poll of Lutherans, Christians, Catholics.  WTF?  Media Misinformation, just feeds the ignorant.
Not all Muslims are of the Islamic faith, but all Islamics are Muslim.  And in the end, does it really matter if Obama was or is a Muslim?   Though I am conservative by choice, I think Americans should count their lucky stars, they have President Barack Obama as President, he is articulate, intelligent, and seems to be his own man, versus the other choices. As for having a Muslim President if he were, who cares, as long as his loyalties lie with America and the people he wishes to lead to better times.    I wonder if there is a poll out there where it is asked if Americans believe Obama is Black or Hawaiian? Again, does it really matter.  Now back to Jerry Springer!

11% of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim

A poll conducted by Pew Research in March shows that over one in 10 Americans still believe President Barack Obama is a Muslim. That number is only slightly lower than the results of a poll conducted by Pew last October.

White evangelical Protestants (19%) and Republicans (17%) are among the most likely to view Obama as a Muslim, according to the poll.

In spite of Obama being on record about his Christian faith and his well known association with a Chicago United church, opponents raised questions about Obama's religion during the contentious 2008 U.S. Presidential campaign.

Conservapedia, which bills itself as the conservative alternative to Wikipedia, has a subsection called 'Obama is likely the first Muslim President' in its entry on Obama. The section lists what it sees as evidence of Obama's Muslim faith.

In June 2008, Fox News commentator E.D. Hill took issue with a fist bump (pictured above) between Obama and his wife Michelle, suggesting it was a "terrorist fist jab." Hill's program was soon cancelled and her Fox News contract not renewed.

The debate over Obama's religion soon took to the Internet where Obama's campaign started its own website to address the religion issue and other 'smears.'

Barry, personally I wouldn't care " as long as his loyalties lie with America...".

It would be a blessing if a Muslim is s president - if you ask any Indian. India , a secular, but Hindu majority country and one of our best Presidents was a muslim. - Dr. Abdul Kalam. Indians still miss him. Before him also we had presidents who are followers of Islam  religion - not "Muslim" Presidents - the version of "Islam" now being sponsored by Al Queda and Taliban.

Dr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed - 1974 - 1977

Dr. Zakir Husain - 1967 - 1969

Alex Jones doesn't seem to think Obama? Osama? (I can never remember which) is his own man.

Jones has recently released his new video The Obama Deception. In it he gives compelling reasons why we shouldn't trust him.

link

His loyalties should lie with the earth and it's inhabitants first and then America, and that rule should apply to all leaders, Earth and then Country.

Thanks for the insights Lefty. In a perfect world perhaps, but we (world) are far from perfect, unless you are a Mennonite organic farmer.

I always thought he was an atheist freemason, based on his actions and views ...

... until i saw the new picture/video of him bowing down to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, now i think he might possibly be muslim, or at least sympathetic to their cause.

... and why might it be a bad thing?  Islam is not compatible with "the west" and "freedom".  Look at the governments of majority-muslim countries:  even the so-called islamic "democracy" Turkey still has problems with gay-rights, women's rights, and minority-religion/ethnicity rights.  (if you think America has is bad, it's still A LOT better than any muslim country) ... while coutries that are more seriously muslim (take their religion seriously) like Saudi Arabia are violently opposed to such things as "freedom of religion" for non-muslims, women's rights (extreme sexism), etc... hell, they're even against music and movies!  if they want that in their own countries, that's fine, but in many places in europe they're pushing their beliefs on the rest of the population, once they become a significant enough minority, demanding special treatment, and so on.

but i'm still 90% sure Obama is an atheist/agnostic, 8% possibility he's a real christian, and 2% possibility he's a real muslim.

Thanks for your comments bettermakings, though some of what you say may be true, as I am a FreeMason, I can tell you we are not Atheist, in fact one of our Prime and First guiding principle in anyone wishing to be a FreeMason is you have to believe in GOD!

This store reminds me of the reaction of Arab press on the death of British princess, Diana. The article is an interest read.

What makes the Arab press so especially intriguing is the manner in which it builds on its own hypothesis, reporting the merest whimsy as solid fact. Some journalists assumed that Diana had already converted to Islam: "Recite the Fatiha [the opening chapter of the Qur'an] for the soul of Diana" read one headline, implying that she was a Muslim at the time of her death. Or another: "Murder was the easiest solution for the British government to deal with a Muslim princess." One account asserted that Diana had agreed to wear the hijab, Islamic modesty clothing, on her head. Others stated as fact that Diana was pregnant by Dodi and the two were soon to announce their plans to marry in November.

It is always welcoming for the Arab press that somebody of such high profile converts to Islam. Take another example of Michael Jackson. Such convert's will be celebrated as trophies :-).

I think Obama's middle name would have aroused such an interest. 11%, did you say?

Thanks IA for the comments, what is a real kick in the slats, is many common names in the West are a form of Middle Eastern Names, such as David, Mary and Joseph. "Holy Crap Batman how can this be true?"

To me, it doesn't matter what he is, and I can't say I find this number shocking really.
