Eleven bodies were recovered, two workers were rescued, while three workers are missing.

Rescuers were trying to push a pipe into the shaft to bring air to possible survivors as well as to dilute gas. Rescuers won’t be sent underground until a plan is worked out later Tuesday, reported CNN.

Tragic.  There are so many good, hard-working Chinese dying for a little money and many shady ones taking advantage of them.  Anyway, it isn't a good idea for humans to be burrowing around in the earth like ants to extract poison.  It's senseless.  Another culprit could be tobacco as the backward mentality to be a man, one must smoke.  The government could do more to educate it's countrymen about the dangers or even impose higher prices for cigarettes but someone is being greedy somewhere at the cost of others' lives.  Corruption must not be tolerated.
